CHEF/COOK - FULL TIME- WEEK DAYS/EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS.

The Hill at Whitemarsh is an upscale retirement community located in a beautiful setting in Lafayette Hill, PA. Our dining program has an outstanding reputation and we are seeking an individual to bring their culinary talent to contribute as part of a professional creative team. Candidates with experience in fine dining restaurants, country clubs, upscale hotels or similar settings are encouraged to apply.      

We are seeking a professional Chef who is committed to meeting the highest standards of quality and cleanliness, meets or exceeds regulatory standards, and completes all tasks within guidelines. 

The successful candidate will have the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
 
  • Culinary Degree Preferred 
  • Experience working on hot line
  • Experience in fine dining atmosphere a definite plus
  • Commitment to excellence in food quality
  • Service oriented mindset
  • Professional demeanor
  • Ability to be part of a collaborative team
  • Satisfy resident needs
  • Provide quality in sufficient amounts
  • Ensure timely production
  • Flexibility to work in all areas of kitchen.

The daily responsibilities of the include, but are not limited to:
        •Prepare meals in accordance with the portion, and quality standards specified in recipes or as otherwise designated by servers within policy.
        •Assist in establishing food service production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time
        •Controls food usage to minimize waste
        •Assists in receiving items and taking inventory as required
        •Maintain a clean, neat and well-organized work area, including but not limited to reach-ins, walk-ins and counters.
        •Actively supports Dining Management in educating and enforcing The Hill at Whitemarsh and Dining Departments policies and procedures as well as Federal, State and
          local sanitation and safety guidelines
        •Support Executive Chef in the oversight of a well-trained line staff.
        •May assist by performing other kitchen duties as needed
